Your Fitness Success Begins With Your Belief

When an elephant is to be tamed, to be a workhorse, is made to believe he can not escape. First, the elephant is tied to a tree with a chain. He tries and tries to free himself against the force of the string. Unable to free himself, the elephant goes.

The coach then replaces the string with string. Discouraged by his lack of success against the chain and felt a tug on his leg, the elephant store only lip service to free himself from the rope. Again success is far and goes elephants.

Finally, the elephant is tied by weak cane a lotus flower. Feeling the pull on the leg, and recalling past failures, the elephant thinks he can not escape, and therefore do not even try. Even if an elephant can move large amounts of weight, lost his belief that can not beat the strap in captivity. All that has been trained and has learned to accept his loss to the string as the only truth.

Many people try to lose weight is like the elephant. After trying to lose weight several times, without success, to succumb to the belief that they can do. Even if you are going to start a fitness program, say the new year or a special event like a class reunion, their attempts and failures of the past are sitting in your subconscious saying, "You can not succeed in this." unconsciously sabotage their results and, in fact, show that is correct. How this cycle can be broken and how you can develop new beliefs?

The first step is to change our beliefs must know what they are and where they come. To truly eradicate the cause, I think we should start from the beginning, the years of adolescence. Think about your earliest childhood that involved sports, athletics, including recreation and physical education What do you remember being told or what were your feelings about your memories? That image of the body, when taken body awareness and surrounded him? How is it?

As children, our world began to filter through what others tell us. If you have learned early on that girls are not supposed to sports or to try a sport and has been ridiculed for being clumsy or uncoordinated, then start putting more beliefs. The their beliefs have been reinforced by other adults in their lives or their peers, the more you start to believe that this is true in your heart.

To cure this and be able to create new beliefs, it is important to realize that his was only a child. Your body is still developing and learning is a sport of skill, which develops over time. You also need to keep in mind that you have learned the beliefs of some other places. By recognizing these two things to open your heart to develop new beliefs that serve you.

Develop skills in everything, including exercise, you need to practice. I think that exercise is a practiced art, like martial arts. It takes time and discipline. Having the belief that you can learn and become good at it, it is necessary, especially the more you do. The key is to change its programming. By doing this, and you start a new program, which often feels like a beginner again. In these times it is good to know that you can and will improve.

Let me share a personal story when I found this invaluable principle. It all started in third grade when I started playing basketball in the league. I was tall and skinny, and uncoordinated. In fact, my lack of coordination why my parents enrolled me in basketball in the first place. I can get to enjoy these moments from time to time because I played in a time when video cameras were new, and my parents had one (it was a big one that actually had to use the video recorder with you.) My parents saw me in one of my games and I spent more time pulling socks than anything else. I could not throw the ball and forget shot.

But I do something right. I kept practicing. Continually practicing the skills I've improved. So much so that in the sixth year, I was invited to basketball camp "Screaming Eagles" in California a year before what young recording allowed. I was also the captain of the basketball team in the seventh and eighth grade.

Exercise and fitness is a practiced art. I've never met anyone who "naturally" was able to add muscle and drop body fat. Always been done by trial and error, perseverance and practice. Learn the skills necessary for your body to achieve the goals that were set. Continuing, setting small achievable goals and through the realization of these objectives to develop a new self-confidence.

All of our past are not the only culprits in the development of our beliefs. There is a much greater threat and is a reliable source. Look for my next article to see who is the wolf in the flock.
